How to Get Rid of Lingering Spray Tan

If you want glowing and healthy-looking skin, then you’ve probably tried spray tans. Of course, it’s always much more convenient to get a tan from a tanning salon like Zoom Tan but it can get costly if you do it all the time.

Now while it’s easy to just spray it all over your skin, you’ll have to deal with the hassle of removing the color before the next fresh spray so you don’t end up with weird-looking color patches. We’re going to share some tips on how you can successfully remove your tan:

1. Use a tan remover.

If you want to get rid of your spray tan, then the easiest way would be to get a tan remover. Apply the product liberally onto dry skin and massage gently. Let is sit for 5-10 minutes before you take a shower to rinse off the product.

2. Apply some baby oil.

Drench your skin in baby oil and let it sit for 7-10 minutes. Then take a hot shower and using a cloth of mitt, scrub away the tan.

3.  Exfoliate using a mitt.

You need to exfoliate regularly to prevent color buildup and to ensure your tan is even. You should exfoliate every 2-3 days. While you can use a soft cloth, it’s always better to use an exfoliating mitt.

4. Go for a swim in a pool.

The chlorine in the pool can help remove any lingering spray tan on your body.

5. Use a bath oil.

Soaking in bath oil can work just as well as applying baby oil but you could say, it’s more relaxing.

6. Sweat it out in the gym.

You can do join Zumba, spin class or kickboxing to sweat away your lingering tan. Or you can go to the sauna for the same results.

7. Try some kitchen ingredients.

There are a few kitchen staples that can remove your tan. You can mix baking soda with lemon juice to create a paste then then rub it all over your skin. Olive oil and sugar is also another good combination that can help get the job done.

8. Use a liquid exfoliator for your face.

If you want to remove fake tan from your face, you can’t just use lemon juice or a commercial spray tan remover. Instead, use a product that contains AHAs or BHAs and massage all over your face, let it sit for a few minutes and rinse.

9. Soak in the tub to remove fake tan from your back.

It’s one of the trickier areas as far as fake tan is concerned. Pour some bath oil in the tub and soak your back in the water for as long as you can. Then scrub off with your exfoliating mitt.
