History and Growth

Sport Clips is a unique sports-themed haircutting franchise. It was established in 1993 by Gordon Logan with its headquarters in Georgetown, Texas.

Sport Clips is one of America’s leading franchises, ranked by Entrepreneur Magazine as one of the top fastest growing franchises with over 1,000 stores across the United States. Sport clips cater to men and boys by providing hassle free hairstyling in a unique, sports themed environment.

Sport Clips is not any ordinary business enterprise. It operates with a lot of heart. Their “Help a Hero” campaign has generated more than $ 2 million to help deployed and hospitalized U.S. military men and provide scholarships to active service members and veterans.

Services Offered

Sport Clips offer haircuts to men and boys. Sport Clips offers the traditional barbershop treatment of precision haircut, hot steamed towel, massaging shampoo and relaxing treatment. They can also do beard trimming and detailing.

Why Choose Sport Clips

There are several reasons for choosing to have your haircuts at Sport Clips. First would be the Sport Clips prices which are reasonable and friendly. But the most obvious reason is that men and boys would like to have their haircuts in a salon intended purely for male clients.

It would be the same reason as why the ordinary American male would like to go drinking in a sports bar with a basketball, baseball, football or hockey game flashing on a TV screen by the bar.

We have to admit that there are a lot of men who feel uncomfortable entering a beauty salon for a haircut alongside females, who are having their hair done. Most males still like to go to traditional barbershops with predominant male clients.

When a man enters a Sport Clips Hair salon, He feels like entering a sports bar. That’s the main difference. And, that is the niche.

So why not just go to a barbershop? As said, Sport Clips is like a sports bar. Just as the waitresses in a sports bar are women, the hairstylists at Sport Clips are women too. While the most male would prefer a barbershop, some feel that their hairstyling needs can be best served by women.

And why not, wouldn’t it be more practical for men to ask women on what would look good on them rather than asking other men?

When there’s no game on a weekend and you need some father and son bonding time, one great idea is to take Junior to the nearest Sport Clips Hair salon. That would be a perfect picture; a father and his son sitting alongside having a traditional American haircut.

The Sport Clips cost means nothing after you leave Sport Clips feeling like a new man.

Sportsclips eliminated call-aheads. It was easy to call before leaving and then not have to wait. Why they stopped I do not know and they won’t tell me. Last time I went, I had to wait 25 minutes. I will never go there again. Other quick haircut places still take call-aheads

So true is the concept that women are best suited to influence a man with his haircut. Now to say that 25 mins was a problem to wait… Get real. They are better off without you as a costumer. I drive 36 miles oneway by choice to go to a Sportsclips because I trust their service and opinion. High recommend for men.

      Hi Sportsfan,

Yes, they will definitely cut women’s hair as well. But keep in mind they don’t do any fancy hair styling that you would normally get at a fancier hair salon. But they should be able to do basic haircuts.

Hi Ed, yes they will cut anyone’s hair. They usually do not do any styling (such as hair coloring), so you will have to get that done elsewhere or at home.
