Cute Hairstyles for Little School Girls

Let us face it, most children do not like getting their hair cut. Whether they do not want to because they value their hair too much, or simply because they do not feel comfortable with a stranger, the bottom line is getting your child to relax while sitting on a salon chair can be challenging. Fortunately, there is a hair salon called Snip-Its, which makes haircuts a fun and enjoyable time with the whole family.

Children will love this hair salon because it has a colorful kiddie theme that most kids will surely appreciate. They can do different activities and also play with gadgets, and educational toys and characters.

However, if cutting your child’s hair is not an option for you, it can help you a lot to learn some cute hairstyles that would be perfect for little girls.

Simple Low Ponytail

This is one of the most basic hairstyle that you can do with your child’s hair. This simple ponytail can be upgraded by using polished and well-placed hair accessories. It can also be done regardless of the length (unless the hair is very short) or the hair texture. The simple ponytail is also perfect for girls who always need to rush and head out the door in a few minutes or she will miss the school bus. Simply gather your child’s hair back and secure her hair with a nice elastic or accessory.

Side French Braid

This style looks so fresh because of the loose and airy texture of the hair. To do this hairstyle, make a French braid from the hairline, but make sure that you do not pull each hair section too tight. Continue until the ends and while angling it to one side, use a hair tie to secure the bottom of the hair.

Braided Ponytail

The braided ponytail looks cute, especially among children who are just starting school. Aside from the cuteness, this style also helps keep hair secure enough for any activities that your active child may participate in. To create this hairstyle, the first step is to part your hair to the side. Then, take a section on the deeper side and do a Dutch braid back, starting at the hairline. If your little girls long enough hair, you can also secure it in a ponytail using an elastic.

Half Up Half Down Messy Bun

This one is also considered as one of the easiest hairstyles for girls, and even adults. It is the perfect hairstyle when your child is already dealing with a late morning but still want a cute and low maintenance hairstyle. It is also versatile as it can work whether you have wavy hair or curly hair. To do this hairstyle, sweep the top half of the hair into a loose and messy bun. For a bit more of style, use your fingers to pull out a few pieces which you can use to frame your face.

Sleek Ponytail

The sleek ponytail is another variation of the classic ponytail, which is characterized with its sleek and smooth hair style. Before styling, it is advised to use an anti-frizz dry spray and apply it all over your hair.  Brush it through to evenly distribute the product. Then, separate a section of hair from above the ear and repeat on the other side. The remaining hair should be pulled into a low ponytail. Wrap one of the hair sections around the base of the bigger ponytail and use a bobby pin to secure the end. Do the same procedure for the other side.

Double Twisted Ponytails

To achieve this look, you need to apply a straightening mist through your child’s hair to help fight hair frizz. Then, blow-dry and straighten the hair before creating a partition. Focusing on one half of your hair, take a smaller section from the center of the back of your head and wrap it around the rest tightly. Repeat the process on the other side.

Loose Curly Updo

If your child has naturally curly or wavy hair, you can make the most out of them by doing an updo showcasing her curls. The hair does not have to be super long, and can be the perfect hairstyle to wrangle second or third day curls. To do this hairstyle, use your preferred product to add more definition to your child’s curls and to help hydrate them too. Then, gather the hair at the crown of your head and secure with a hair tie. Using a pin, create a bun-like look by loosely pinning random sections of the hair at the ponytail’s base.  It is like styling your child’s hair using a hair bun, while also highlighting the beautiful curls.
