      Hi Becca,

I would suggest to contact your local SmartStyle salon and ask them directly as it will differ based on each location and stylist.

A licensed credible professional will not use your private owned product inside a licensed shop. You need to get a friend to do your relaxer at your house in your kitchen. Same if you owned your own color and wanted a color treatment done. A major no no in a licensed shop by a credible licensed professional. That just doesn’t happen. You want hollywood hair on a McValue Meal price and it just doesn’t happen in reality.

    • Editorial Staff

      August 4, 2015 at 5:59 pm

Hi Leena, it starts at $44.95 and goes up based on your hair length, colors, and so on. It would be best to contact your local SmartStyle salon and ask them to know for sure.

You need to have a consultation. Are you looking to have a short cut, or keep long locks? Longer hair uses more color. How do you want your 3 colors? Like a ombre? Hi lite, Lol and base, tri color, or do you wa t peek-a-boo color, or do you want new peacock color in streaks… what are your desired end results? You need to communicate exactly what you expect. Use pictures so your stylist will know exactly what you want. ♡

Go in the shop and have consultation , the consultation is free and you can get a price. They need to see your hair to give a price.

can they fix hair dye mistakes? I tried dying my hair a dark brown and it came out black! Can they get the color back to brown?

    • me

      May 20, 2016 at 12:34 pm

Yes, color mistakes are easy to fix by a licensed cosmetologist professional. They can give you your dream hair. Tell them your budget and bring in pictures of your desired color and style. They can absolutely do it. Make sure to communicate everything in the consolidation

how much does it cost to bleach half of the head and color with your own hair dye?

    • me

      May 20, 2016 at 12:41 pm

Why would you color with your own dye? A double process is not based on the color, cost. So I think go in and get a consultation then you can get an exact number based on your hairs condition rite mow, and how much work needs to be done to get what you want it to. Thats all it is. Consulting services are free so I advise you go check it out.

    January 15, 2016 at 2:35 pm

I would not have my hair cut or permed or colored at any of these facilities. They butcher your hair cut. They clearly don’t what 10 to 12 inches mean and they don’t have even a tape measure. Instead they use a plastic comb and say it is about 6 inches and that is how they measure the lenght of hair. Then they butcher and not account the actual cutting of inches to shape your hair. They just keep on cutting. Ended up with a very bad hair cut and was only given I am very sorry and couple of coupons.

Took my 10 yr old daughter to Walmart for wash, trim and blow dry. While hair was being washed, a deep conditioner was given without inquiring with me first, my daughter was asked if she wanted it instead. Shampoo, cut and express dry is listed as $13.95, with deep condition and flat iron total price was $40.00+. No good explanation why, instead asked how much I usually pay. Totally ripped off, never using service again.

    • me

      May 20, 2016 at 12:50 pm

A cut is 14.95 added 10 for deep conditions they should have asked you, since your paying, I’m sure her hair needed a conditioning but deep conditioning is diffrent, blow out is free, unless it’s a in depth blow out, it’s extra. It’s also extra for any thermal service like curling iron or flat iron. So that’s why it was jacked up.. they were trying to please her, but they should have asked you. They did not handle it properly. You should get a free cut for your inconvenience.

I have a seven year old son who wants a mohawk cut and his hawk dyed Red.
we are going to the one in walmart nc…if that tells you anything

I also have a four year old who wants her ends dyed pink/purple.

both children have dark hair, so I think they might needs to do a light bleach.

How much would it cost to get the kids hair dyed or would it be the 44.95? and count as adults…

    Thank you

    • me

      May 20, 2016 at 12:52 pm

Bleach a 7 yr old? Is that right? You may have a very hard time finding a professional who is willing to do that. I will not color a child under the age of 16. Bleach is agressive and I think your going to have to find someone very special to meet your needs.

    February 22, 2016 at 4:10 am

Why do you all charge 26.00 for a style after you get a perm that cost 44.95 every where else charge 45.00 and curling and trim is included!! Just a ripoff I paid 150.00 for 2 hairdos which included a eyebrow waxing

Why do you idiots continue to ask for pricing for a national chain when the moderator has explained multiple times that pricing may vary between locations. Also, it wouldn’t hurt for some of you to go back to school to learn proper english. Thank you and have a great day dingbats.

Prices for a perm applied to the full head of hair (virgin) should not be the same as a retouched relaxer which ONLY has product applied to the roots of the hair. Please consider adding a separate price for the relaxer retouch service. Thank you.

  18. Grace Hill

    June 22, 2016 at 9:03 pm

I was charged $70. For a retouch ofy perm with a roller set I Las Cruces NM. That is absolutely overpriced.

It does not appear that brushes or combs are sanitized after using on someone else. Appears they are picked up and used on the next customer. Also why charge extra for the use of a curling iron.

I’ll never go back to Walmart again, when I questioned the price, she said its not ola cart here.
I see now that there are coupons, maybe she could have mentioned that to me for next time.
    I had a bad experience I feel.

Hi just curious about a price for adult flat iron my hairs not very long but it’s pretty thick

  29. June

    August 22, 2017 at 1:54 pm

My hair does not touch my shoulders and $10 was added for “long length” which did not see correct to me. Also the terms for “blowing out your hair” if a brush is used to style it adds cost, which is confusing. My shampoo and blow dry ended up costing me $29.50 I always tip and that ended up more expensive than I can afford on a weekly basis. Most Salons in our area are $25 max for shampoo and style. The only additional cost for “long length” is when a persons hair hangs well past their shoulders.
